The Gig:
Bring your equipment, your balls and your best stroke. And remember that no matter how much these terms remind you of men, this tournament is all about the girls…yes, those girls.
The Pink Ribbon Golf Classic is “dedicated to raising money and awareness to fight breast cancer and to help the American Cancer Society” says Ginger King, event co-chair.
This year’s Pink Ribbon Golf Classic is just around the corner, giving everyone a splendid opportunity to dust off those clubs, get in some practice rounds, and go buy a new sports bra to show some support (get it?) before the tournament on October 4, 2010, at the Marietta City Club.
The tournament this year is honoring four outstanding women who are actively raising awareness about breast cancer in their community. FOUR! (lame golf joke.) These ladies have all experienced cancer in one way or another and have stayed involved in their communities to share their understanding and knowledge on breast cancer.
Prior to the tournament, an exciting auction/preview party will be held, providing the opportunity to bid on some fabulous goodies. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the Pink Ribbon Classic, as well as opportunities to donate auction items, or honor a friend or loved one with a balloon dedication. Last year, over $70,000 was raised and contributed to research, patient services, advocacy efforts, and education for cancer patients and survivors. Be a part of that number this year by coming out to the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic and supporting in any way you can!
