our founder + editor.
Elizabeth Cossick, M.Ed., is our founder, editor, and a real hellcat when it comes to correct pronoun usage. She received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Literacy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass. (The M. Ed. at the end of her name has nothing to do with journalism but looks smart and justifies the grad school loan so she keeps it.) She has a decade’s worth of experience as a literature teacher and literacy consultant and has written for and edited publications on a local and national level — including editing a New York Times bestseller. Elizabeth grew up in Marietta and currently resides in Acworth with her husband Graham, their sons Bantten and Brooks, daughter Mia, Munson the Wonder Dog, two frogs, nine fish, a snail and a herd of dust bunnies.
our assistant editor.
Suzanna Palmer has written cover stories and features for a number of lifestyle and shelter publications including Coastal Living and Texas Home and Living. She’s also chronicled pregnancy woes as Pregnancy and Newborn Magazine’s “Knocked Up” blogger. In 2009, she left her job as an editor to volunteer full-time with an Atlanta inner-city children’s ministry. It was there that she met her husband (the church’s youth pastor), and the rest is history. They just had their third child. (Yep, she got knocked up, yet again.)
our production manager.
Ginny Brogan keeps our heads on straight, our ads in place, and our clients happy. She is Master of the Spreadsheet, organizing all ads and orchestrating design work. If you’re an LBD | LRW client, chances are you’ll be working with Ginny. Chances also are that you’ll like her as much as we do. Ginny and her husband, Justice, have two kids and can often be found traipsing around Marietta. (She even delivers magazines around the Square pulling her son, Jimmy, in a little red wagon, yes she does.)
Sabrina Tongren of In8 Design is the talented designer of our print magazine and client ads. A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, this Smyrna resident specializes in making everything — from an ad to an app — more visually appealing. And man is she good at it. Her clients range from sports personalities and whiskey bars to boutiques and churches. And, oh yes, LBD|LRW. Lucky us. She’s also mama to Jett, the best-dressed toddler ever seen on Earth.
Kelly Grainger of Moxie-Designs is the creative mastermind behind many of our clients’ ads, as well as some of the charity events we support. She’s a small-business guru, with mad skills in marketing, brand development, web design and event planning. Plus, her (four!) kids’ birthday parties make Pinterest look like the B-leagues. (We sometimes hate her.)
Jennifer Harris of Jen Harris Photography credits her son’s birth for her passion for photography. She took one look at his tiny toes and button nose and knew she had to photograph them. Jennifer has since built an impressive portfolio, including family, professional and architectural work. She lives in Acworth with her husband Andrew, son Ben and two daughters Gracie and Madeline.
Matt Druin of Matthew Druin Photography lives in Atlanta with his wife, Jessica, and their little guy, Mason. He also has two adopted rescue schnauzers, Jetta and Little Bear. A few notables about Matt: He’s extremely sarcastic. He really likes ice cream but hates ice cream cones. He’s fascinated by people’s stories. He’s a tech geek. He has lots of tattoos. He’s the only dude on the current LBD | LRW roster. And his style, both in photography and life, is a little random, a little minimalistic, and a lot of awesome.
our contributing team.
Ginny Brogan, Melissa Sarathy and Heather Henson round out our team. These ladies are all experts at balancing a million things: soccer schedules, PTA roles, sales calls, field-trip chaperoning, networking meetings, special event planning, snack duties, carpool duties, laundry duties … and they’re pretty good at kickin’ butt and takin’ names, too. What’s even better is that, as soon as you meet them, you want to pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and chat for a while. They are a few of the most fun, most inspiring, most genuine people we know.
We love us a good intern. We’ve been graced with stellar interns every year from The University of Georgia, Kennesaw State University and more since our inception in 2008. We’ve launched interns to great heights, including stints at Jezebel and The Georgia Aquarium (just to puff out our chests a bit). If you’re interested in applying for an LBD|LRW internship, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Internships are unpaid; we work with colleges to secure course credit.
