Cobb Arts Ball Event Pictures

In 2008, an elegant tradition was launched in Cobb: The Cobb Arts Ball. This much-anticipated black-tie gala, thrown in support of the Endowment Fund of United Arts of Cobb, is attended by the who’s-who list of our community’s artistic and talented. This year’s ball was held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Casino games, live music, a candlelit dinner…and even a mime…added to the evening’s festivities.

Here’s a recap in pictures:

acorn home and garden annual holiday open house

the goods:

Ho! Ho! Home decorating time for the holidays! In the interior design world, the Christmas season doesn’t beginacorn_furniture-pic15 after the turkey is polished off and the pumpkins are put away. No, no. It starts this week. And, while you may not be lugging out your Christmas décor quite this early, now’s the time to reap the rewards from those who do.

Take Acorn Home and Garden, for instance – one of our favorite spots for inspiration any month of the year…and especially during the holidays. They’re kicking off Christmas with their annual (and anticipated) Holiday Open House, October 20-23. Inspirational seasonal vignettes will abound, and all holiday merchandise will be 10% off.

While you’re there, ask about Acorn’s “Christmas on Wheels” service, where Master Decorator Tony Whitlock will perform a holiday miracle on your home, transforming it into the envy of the neighborhood. We can’t think of a acorn_accents-pic08better way to start spreadin’ the holiday cheer.

Primrose for Pink! (Pics :)

Primrose School at Oregon Park and Primrose School at Brookstone ran for PINK today! The 4- and 5-year-olds donned hand-painted and tie-dyed tees and ran (or walked or skipped) a set course to raise money for Susan G. Komen. Prior to the event, the kids’ parents sponsored them per lap…and some of the little lappers did over 20. Time to pay up, Mom and Dad! :)

After all the running, the exhausted little ones celebrated with a pink picnic! Publix baked up pink bread and pink cupcakes just for the occasion. The verdict? Delicious! An all-around glorious day for these cheerful young givers.

Now check out these adorable pics:

lil light o’ mine launches with two mom- and kid-friendly products

the goods:

There is a disconnect between two very important elements of every mom’s life: value-based teaching tools and home-beautifying objects. Sure, there’s frame-worthy scripture-inspired décor containing messages that mean nothing to your child. Then there are child-friendly messages printed on primary-colored, character-adorned materials, likely to maintain a one-day kitchen counter life, only to be relegated to the closet during a clean-sweep. Where’s the happy medium? The attractive AND kid-friendly pieces? The answer? They don’t exist. That is, they didn’t until today!

Lil Light O’ Mine™ hits the scene today to provide moms and children with beautifully-designed teaching tools,Scripture_Card in an effort to help foster character building – as well as charm – in your home.

“Lil Light O‟ Mine™ was conceived with a mom’s style and a child’s heart in mind. It is something we hope shines through in everything we create,” said Courtney DeFeo, the company’s founder.

This marketing-guru, turned stay-at-home mom, turned business owner knows that keeping lessons in front of your child to experience on a regular basis is the most effective way for them to learn. Enter ABC Scripture Cards and My Lil Money Jars. Money_JarsABC Scripture Cards are comprised of 26 tastefully designed 5×7 cards that feature easy-to- remember Bible verses and comes with a 5” easel that allows for a simple, elegant presentation, as well as a magnet for display on your refrigerator.
