The holidays are finally here! This year, the staffers at BDRW Magazine are making it a point to slow down and invest our time (and $$$) in moments that really matter.
One of the things we are so happy to support is the Annual Military Toy Drive that helps provide toys to amazing military families who need love and support during the holidays. We talked with Melissa Krudwig, a veteran in our own community and the founder of The Think Melissa Team, Atlanta Communities about just how important this drive is for our heroic service members.
“With all the financial cut backs, we are seeing more and more of our Service Members and families struggling to make ends meet. Now more than ever we are really relying on our volunteers and your kind donations,” says Melissa. “The Christmas Assistance Program is designed to be a supplemental program for Service Members that are struggling financially due to unemployment, underemployment, illness, find themselves wounded or are raising children as single parents. Those in need may be deployed, have recently returned from overseas, are classified as a wounded warrior or are a traditional National Guardsman.”
“My family and I are collecting toys and gift cards (gift cards for older children) to support our local military families through The Georgia National Guard Family Program Office,” says Melissa. “We hope that we can count on your support to help us show our military children that their sacrifices are appreciated by giving them the most amazing Christmas they could imagine!”
