Rustic farmhouse decor is spotted in an unsuspecting place — in Kennesaw Gynecology, founded by Dr. Angel Paas.

We wouldn’t be surprised if patients did a double-take when they walk inside Kennesaw Gynecology, thinking, “Wait, is this really my doctor’s office? Or did I stumble upon the set of Joanna Gaines’s Fixer Upper?”
Here are the design elements we love most — plus Dr. Angel Paas’ inspiring story behind her office’s purposeful decor.
The inspired design came about through what founding physician Dr. Angel Paas calls “a divine coincidence.” Burdened by the many design decisions necessary to build out her new gynecology practice, Dr. Paas called Diane and Martin Watts, longtime friends of herself and her husband, Chuck.
“Martin had actually been instrumental in leading Chuck to his Christian faith years ago. They are very, very dear to our family. We had also always admired their style. Their house is gorgeous, so I knew they could help me,” says Dr. Paas. “What I didn’t know is that Diane had just decided to launch her own interior decorating business, as well! So, my call was amazingly timely. She was able to design my office and use it as a showplace for her new business, to share her talent.”
Highlights of the office include shiplap walls, sliding barn doors and custom light fixtures. There’s even a chalkboard wall above the lobby’s coffee bar, on which Dr. Paas writes a faith-based quote daily. Meaningful art also covers the walls — including Dr. Paas’s favorite: a painting of a Dalmatian in front of a fan with his spots blowing off. “That’s menopause!” she jokes. “There’s meaning behind every decision we made. We want to offer an escape – a peaceful retreat from the outside world.”
Dr. Paas is also seeking a second physician. Call for information.
