the gig:
If you’re wondering how to make a difference in YOUR COMMUNITY, here’s how: Join Little Black Dress | Little Red Wagon at a family festival on Saturday, May 14, at the Bentwater activity field in Acworth to raise funds for the Make A Wish Foundation’s Walk for Wishes. This festival is not organized by a major corporation, but rather by Cobb resident Taylor Cooper, a bright-spirited 10-year-old who was diagnosed with Wilm’s Tumor, a form of kidney cancer, when she was 5.
During the course of her treatments, Taylor was granted a wish by Make A Wish; she wanted a playhouse in her backyard complete with window boxes. She got her wish. Today, Taylor is healthy, bright-spirited, and devoted to raising money to grant the wishes of other children with cancer.
This year, Team Taylor is raising money to send Brendan Stotler and his family to Atlantis. Brendan was diagnosed with Wilm’s Tumor, also, in 2009. Help us send Brendan to Atlantis! Wishes can’t wait.

more about taylor and brendan, from taylor’s mom, kim (pictured top, left):
Taylor Cooper is now a cancer-free, beautiful, blue-eyed, 10-year-old angel filled with an abundance of joy. Her great big spirit is filled with so much love and kindness. She is a very active and restless girl who enjoys playing soccer, acting, and playing with friends. She also loves to sing! Taylor already has a strong relationship with God and a uniquely innocent childlike faith. Taylor was diagnosed on July 19, 2005, with a Wilm’s Tumor (a form of kidney cancer in children). She had surgery two days later to remove the tumor and her left kidney.
Taylor went through an intense 30 weeks of chemotherapy treatment, as well as 11 radiation treatments. Taylor was granted her wish through the Make A Wish Foundation shortly before her end of chemotherapy treatment. Her last treatment was on March 10, 2006. She is enjoying getting back to a normal, 10-year-old, worry-free life of playing with friends and family. We are forever grateful to everyone for their love and support…and to the Make A Wish Foundation for granting Taylor’s Wish.
This will be our sixth year in walking in the Walk for Wishes. Please help us in our mission to help give back to these brave children! Wishes can’t wait!
TEAM TAYLOR will be walking in honor of Brendan Stotler. Brendan was diagnosed with a Wilm’s Tumor also. He completed his treatment in May 2010 and wishes to go to Atlantis. Please help us in honoring Brendan!

This is such an awesome and inspiring story. Taylor and Brendan both are examples of how we are all supposed to give back. Go Team Taylor!
The Perlino Family will be there to support our friends Taylor Cooper and her AMAZING family as we make a WISH come TRUE….WE CAN DO IT!! WE LOVE YOU!!
My heart goes out to these families and others that have to deal with the nightmare of childhood cancer. These kids are so brave! Make A Wish is awesome – I hope everyone supports this event!!
