The Gig:

Reminiscent of slower times and smaller towns, FoxTale Book Shoppe is like something from a storybook… ironic, yes? Pull off Main Street in historic Woodstock and cross the threshold into this charming store and you’ll find that perhaps, life isn’t moving just as fast as it seems.

Although this definitely makes FoxTale unique, what sets them apart is not only the quiet, elegant decorum and homey ambiance, but their unwavering calendar of events! Book clubs for all ages meet monthly, as well as monthly open mic nights. Author book signings are always just around the corner, and children’s story time is held twice weekly. Meg Ryan would certainly approve and would no doubt rub this great little shop right in Tom Hanks’ face.

In the children’s room, Golden Book Classics, like The Little Red Hen go for $3.99, while Nancy Drew throwbacks are just $4.99. In the main section, there are a

ton of books for adults, ranging from cooking to Clinton to cottage living. No matter who you are, Foxtale Book Shoppe  is the kind of place where you can find yourself, find some good company…and find a great book.
