The Rum pund cake sounds incredible – we lived in the Cayman Islands when we were first married and that sounds a lot like the “famous” Cayman rum cakes that we loved so much – we even served that as our grooms cake at our wedding – we will definitely have to try one of Gabriels!! I am sure it will be delicious!!

We are picking up my daughter’s 16th birthday cake next weekend and can’t wait to see it! Gabriel’s is a gem!

  24. Gwen Baldwin March 17, 2010 at 5:23 pm #

This is the most wonderful cake I have ever eaten. It has the best of flavors…Coconut, Vanilla and Pecans! Molto delizioso! Grazie Johnnie!
    Italian Cream Cake:
Three yellow layers laced with coconut, pecan pieces, real vanilla then filled and frosted with cream cheese frosting using more real vanilla flavoring and topped with more coconut & pecans .. featured twice now in the Atlanta Magazine. A favorite for many years!…..

  80. Kendall February 23, 2010 at 11:02 pm #

  92. Lynn Sanders February 23, 2010 at 11:19 am #

I just love the pound cakes – my favorite – with chocolate icing

  93. Amanda Parker February 23, 2010 at 11:02 am #

My vote’s for the caramel cake. Not only because it is so yummy, but because I know how hard it is to get the caramel icing just right. My grandmother used to make perfect caramel cakes. . . firm caramel that set just right but still creamy enough to melt in your mouth. One bite of Johnnie’s caramel cake and I’m sitting in Grannie’s kitchen surrounded by love and laughter!

  94. Leslie Kingston February 23, 2010 at 11:00 am #

Oh, no question here….the caramel cake. Delish!
And if you have not tried 7 minute frosting, you really should. It’s amazing.

  101. Ann February 23, 2010 at 9:47 am #

Puhleeze!!! Hands down, the yummiest is Gabriel’s German Chocolate cake! I like to buy it just for me, but everyone else in my house somehow sneaks a slice or two. And how do I eat it? Oh, as dessert after dinner, by itself, as my breakfast with a cup of coffee, my midnight snack…

  102. Jim Warren February 23, 2010 at 8:58 am #

  107. CarolynG February 23, 2010 at 3:16 am #

There’s no way to pick just one!! I’ll start with the Italian Cream Cake, then, the Flourless Chocolate Cake, and then…….

  108. Eddie February 23, 2010 at 2:40 am #

Key Lime Cake is like no other anywhere!

  109. Katlyn G February 23, 2010 at 2:39 am #

  112. Ashley Holland February 23, 2010 at 2:20 am #

The chocolate sheet cake is exactly what my grandma used to make for our birthdays when we were little. That is probably my favorite, not just for the taste, but for the great memories it brings back.

  113. Tammy Brannon February 23, 2010 at 2:19 am #

Has to be the yellow cake with the cooked fudge frosting. Sounds like the cake my sweet mom use to make. Have not had one like that in 7 years!

a strawberry wedding cake would be perfect.

I would love to try the Fresh Strawberry Cake!

  116. Beverly February 23, 2010 at 2:15 am #

Everything is great but my favorites would have to be between the rum poundcake and the carrot cake!!

  117. Windy W February 23, 2010 at 2:11 am #

The best cake I ever tasted was the Gabriel’s Strawberry Cake! However, we had Gabriel’s design my son’s birthday cake from a party napkin that looked like the beach. It was EXACTLY the same, complete with flip flops, sunglasses, a beach towel and sugary sand. It was amazing and tasted great!

  118. Kristen February 23, 2010 at 2:09 am #

Oh wow! It all sounds so good and I can speak from experience that everything is delicious. It really isn’t good that I’m craving these sweets so late but the white chocolate cake sounds delicious right now!!!

  119. sandie & mike February 23, 2010 at 2:08 am #

We didn’t have a wedding cake, so a Gabriel Wedding Cake would be a dream come true for our 6th anniversary.

  122. susan grunwald February 22, 2010 at 1:46 am #

OK – I can’t qualify to win because I’m the marketing director for Gabriel’s but I just can’t help telling you my favorites! Have to agree with Mary Anne that strawberry cake is pure heaven closely followed by the carrot cake and red velvet cupcake – it will probably take me the rest of the year to try them all but I’m giving it my best effort!

  123. Susan A February 21, 2010 at 1:59 pm #

I would choose everything, but if I had to choose one it would be the Mini Chocolate Cups with white chocolate curls. I will have to remember this bakery.

  124. Lia Blakely February 21, 2010 at 12:08 pm #

Great, it’s 9 a.m. and now I’m already craving chocolate! Oh well, there are worse things. Flourless Chocolate Cake. (and do you deliver?? :-)

  125. Melissa February 20, 2010 at 10:59 pm #

Umm, let’s see, where to begin:
    Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
    Mini Chocolate Cups
    Triple Chocolate Cheesecake
    Decorated Cut-Out Sugar
It all sounds yummy, I may just have to spoil my dinner!

  126. Kristen Smith February 19, 2010 at 2:12 pm #

I’m feeling pretty tropical – despite the cold weather – and choosing the Coconut Pound Cake. Maybe pour a little hot buttered Rum on top?!?!?!? YUM!!

Oh, and I’d love to try Tollhouse Pie! (I’m not trying to enter twice…I just didn’t follow directions very well the first go-round. :-)

Wow-calories oozing out of the pictures. They look wonderful. I would like to try the Lemon Cheesecake as it sounds like a cake I ate growing up in Atlanta.

Gabriel’s strawberry cake is incredible. Actually of their cakes are, but I think this one is my favorite!

    Fresh Strawberry Cake:
Fresh, chopped strawberries are strewn throughout our buttery yellow layer and baked. More fresh chopped strawberries are added to our own cream cheese/butter cream and spread between the layers and frosts the cake. Strawberries through and through!
