A Fresh Hope was started by 11-year-old Waverly Gilcrease three years ago. It is a 501(3)c non-profit that provides assistance to children and families in the NW Atlanta (Paulding, Cobb, Bartow, Douglas). A Fresh Hope hosts a Back to School Celebration each August where over 1,000 back packs with school supplies are donated to children who need them. They also partner with West Ridge Church and CAYA to host a Christmas Outreach event where families receive food bags and toys; there’s even a shopping store where children can select a gift to give their parents!
